"If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. We need not wait to see what others do." - Gandhi

There are about 443,000 children placed in the foster care without a permanent roof over their heads and family. Along with the uncertainty of safety and guidance, there are a lot of challenges and problems with child welfare systems face that woefully affects the lives of foster children.

Foster children face a multitude of challenges and majority of the time, it is difficult for them to rely on the foster care system. They are often being neglected, disregarded, and in most times, abused.

Foster kids cannot talk to anyone because of so many rules and regulations. Their whole life, they are being controlled by people, and this tends to inflict a sense of fear for the rest of their lives.

Most foster teenagers transitioning from the foster care system to the real world, eventually end up back into the foster system due to the fact that they have no guidance and support, which results in them entering the juvenile system. These foster teenagers are more susceptible to be involved in either gangs or prostitution because they do not want to be homeless. The foster care system fails to provide a proper and safe shelter or counseling to these distressed teenagers.  Contrary to the belief of a ‘fostering’ environment, the system places them in group homes and penalizes the children for being helpless.
